What happens during a teeth whitening procedure?

During the professional teeth whitening procedure, the patient’s gums, lips, and cheeks are shielded while the gel is placed on the teeth. Laser light is then focused on the teeth, in order to activate the whitening gel. Over a time period of about 45 minutes, the gel performs it’s magic to lighten teeth that have become discolored as a result of coffee and tea drinking, nicotine use, antibiotics, red wine, or just simply the results of growing older. While undergoing professional teeth whitening treatment, patients can relax and take it easy while listening to CD’s on our headsets or by watching movies on our overhead monitors. At the end of the professional teeth whitening treatment session, our clinical staff will clear away the whitening gel to reveal whiter, brighter teeth and a more sparkling smile.
